Selene, a butcher by trade, wakes up every night drenched in cold sweat, haunted by the disfigured memory of a loss—a miscarriage—alongside the echo of a mocking laugh resonating in the dark: the laugh of Daniel, her husband.

Her days pass cold and bleak in the deli she runs, a place where the metallic scent of blood mingles with the memory of Daniel's sharp, cutting words.

Navigating a reality where dreams blur with memories, the open wound of a violent relationship loops within her mind, hiding a latent truth: Daniel is dead, and the putrid stench emanating from the bathtub threatens to consume her, forcing her to retch after every shower. Her life has become a labyrinth of blood and self-loathing.
