Mountains of Madness is a new genre film festival launching 13 – 15 November 2026 at Galaxy Victorian Theatre in Sparks, Nevada. Dedicated to horror, sci-fi, thriller, and genre cinema, the festival celebrates the creatures we fear, the ones we create, and the monsters within.

Our inaugural edition will run across three days, featuring curated short film blocks, select features, filmmaker Q&As, and an awards presentation. Designed as an intimate, filmmaker-first event, Mountains of Madness focuses on strong programming, engaged audiences, and meaningful connection.

Filmmakers can expect a professional cinema screening, media wall and photo opportunities, live audience discussions, and networking events that bring together genre fans and artists from across Northern Nevada and beyond. This is where monsters are unleashed — and where bold genre storytellers find their audience.
